I didn’t write yesterday (probably could have in the morning), but by the end of the night, I was toast! So tired!
Mom and I went to Disneyland(!) to celebrate my 48th birthday(!). We had a great day! I secured my annual pass holder card (new design!), and we were off to the traditional first ride: the Haunted Mansion. The last two times I’ve been to the park, this ride has been re-done for the holidays, and I’m ready to see it back to its original self. I’ll be back in January! We saw a bunch of characters all dressed up for the holidays. We saw Star Wars Land, and rode the Smuggler’s Run ride which was super fun! We also did Star Tours, and I did Space Mountain that is now Hyperspace Mountain and is Star Wars themed. We went over to California Adventure for Soarin’ Over the World (lovely) and had a hot fudge sundae from Ghiradelli. Back at Disneyland, we got to Fantasyland just in time to see It’s a Small World light up for the night, and of course Sleeping Beauty’s castle is resplendent in its holiday finery. Here’s a mini-collage of our day.
We were done by 8 pm. We headed out and went to New Moon for a late snack. I was so tired, I left the water running in their bathroom (oops!) We had walked over 7 miles (go Mom!) and were pretty pooped when we got home. But it was a really fun way to spend #48.
Today, it was raining when I woke up which meant no walking or tennis. It’s okay. I was still tired from the day before. So I went to Starbucks and came home and dawdled about until it was time to go to work at 1 pm. The bookstore was fairly quiet today. It rained some more. On the way home, I stopped at Pita Paradise for dinner to bring home. Chicken with rice, hummus, fries. Yum. Then it was time to do some editing work (after I watched the end of “A Few Good Men” a classic Sorkin movie). And now here I am: ready for bed again.
