National Poetry Month – Day 23

I had a very low-key day. So here’s another old one from 2015.

Clouds

ridges of darkening clouds
spread across the eastern sky
like a rumpled blanket
on the softest bed

as the night comes on
they smooth out
into a matte gray
a perfect backdrop
for a night in
with a good book
