Have a poet read your stars

As a gift to myself for my birthday, I booked a session with a poet friend of mine from back in the day who now has a PhD in Depth Psychology with a specialization in Somatic Studies. One of the services she offers is an astrological reading to support personal healing.

Shortly before our session, she sent me my birth chart, and then in our session, we dove right in. She told me how the stars were exactly aligned at the time and place of my birth, and what that placement means for me. She also compared it to where the stars were on that day that we were talking (11/17).

Here’s what was fascinating to her about my chart:

My 5th house, which represents my personal creative energy, is packed with planets. She explained it as kind of a sequence that needs to happen. First up is Neptune, the water god who is about spirituality and who needs to dissolve boundaries (like water). This boundary-breaking unlocks the sequence. Next up is Jupiter who is uber generous, who just wants to give and give. But unlimited generosity without any boundaries can lead to burnout, so then there’s Mercury who’s all about communication, magic, and language which gives way to Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. All of these things line up to allow me to write, to communicate my way out of myself. Lastly, there’s the moon who tells us what we need to be taken care of. Directly across from my 5ht house is the 11th house, which represents friendships, community, and mutual fortune and is ruled by Saturn who gives things limitations and forms, which is needed for a creative life force.

I can’t tell you that I had any deep breakthroughs or anything, but just getting to hear her pour out all this gorgeous language about my creative life force was wonderful.

One thing I took away from it was that it’s no longer conducive for me to be around folks who won’t go deep with me, who only want superficial stuff. Basically, the time is now to declare that I’m all out of fucks to give. She said to go ahead and get really weird as far as my art or creative output goes. I guess we’ll have to wait and see for that.

Fifty, here I come!

I had mine done a few years ago. I’m going to read it again, see how I feel about what it says now that I’m older.
